The Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov University of Burgas has transformed its former disco into a student centre, the university said on Wednesday. The premises were transformed with the voluntary work of the students themselves and with donations, while the original idea came from the Rector of the university, Prof. Hristo Bozov.

"We have shown that a university which does not have great financial capabilities can do something like this, which will serve not only the students but also the lecturers", Bozov said. He added that there will be thematic corners for foreign students to represent their countries as well. "We want to show that we are tolerant of everyone and can educate people of all nationalities," he said.

The student centre will allow young people to hold conferences, work on their projects and communicate with each other. The centre will also have a library with 400 books, a bookstore, a conference area and computers.
