The best Bulgarian badminton players Stefani Stoeva and Gabriela Stoeva became the most successful badminton team at European championships in history after winning their fifth title on Saturday. With this win, they equalized the achievement of Danish team Christinna Pedersen and Kamilla Rytter Juhl. 

On Saturday, the two sisters managed to secure the trophy in Horsens, Denmark against local team Natasja Anthonisen/Maiken Fruergaard.

This was their seventh European championships final as a tandem. In a Facebook post on Monday, they explained that the 2023 European Games in Poland, which they won, might not be listed in the statistics with the other European championships but still officially count as one. 

Pedersen and Juhl won the competition in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017, while the Bulgarians did it in 2018, 2021, 2022 and 2025.

They also placed fifth at the 2024 Paris Olympics and grabbed the gold at the 2015 European Games in Baku.
