The net flows of foreign direct investment in Bulgaria presented according to the directional principle recorded a positive value of EUR 685.6 million (0.6% of GDP) in the first two months of 2025, according to preliminary data released by the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) on Tuesday. The net flows of FDI dropped by EUR 82.6 million (10.8%) from EUR 768.2 million a year earlier.
Foreign direct investment in Bulgaria recorded a net inflow of EUR 353.8 million in February 2025, compared with an inflow of EUR 481 million a year earlier.
The data for January-February 2025 are preliminary and are to be revised with the March 2025 report.
Real estate investments of non-residents recorded a net outflow of EUR 1.7 million, compared with a positive value of EUR 1.5 million in January-February 2024.
According to preliminary data, direct investment abroad for January-February 2025 totalled EUR 37.4 million (0.03% of GDP), compared with EUR 53.8 million (0.1% of GDP) a year earlier. It recorded a positive value of EUR 6.7 million in February 2025, compared with a positive value of EUR 19.4 million in February 2024.
