In February 2025, industrial production in the European Union increased by 1% from January 2025 and by 0.6% from February 2024, show seasonally adjusted data published by Eurostat on Tuesday. That is the most significant month-on-month rise in the Union's industrial production since November 2023. In Bulgaria, industrial production dropped by 0.7% compared to January 2025 and by 4.7% compared to February 2025, the second most significant year-on-year decrease registered in the EU.
The biggest industrial production drop was observed in Hungary, by 8%. The most significant annual increase was registered in Ireland, by 38.8%.
The industrial output in Bulgaria has been observing a downward trend for five months now on a monthly basis and for three months on an annual basis. According to the latest data of the National Statistical Institute, the most significant decrease in February was observed in the mining and quarrying industry, by 6.3%.
