Organizing Bulgaria’s participation in EXPO 2025 in Osaka was a challenge, but the country has the opportunity to present its vision to Japan and the world, said Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA) Executive Director Boyko Takov told BTA on Tuesday.
Takov attended the opening of the world exhibition on April 13, and observed the Bulgarian pavilion's first days of activity, witnessing high visitor interest and long queues forming daily.
The national pavilion is built on the Saving Lives concept, featuring a large glass façade and an open design to fit harmoniously with Japanese culture and to highlight the idea of evolving with nature. The renowned Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto who designed the wooden ring surrounding the expo site described the Bulgarian pavilion as “clean and beautiful.”
The Bulgarian pavilion is located between those of Singapore and the Netherlands. According to Takov, this central positioning has contributed to the strong interest, with over 1.150 visitors on the first day alone.
Over 160 countries and organizations are participating in EXPO 2025, which is expected to attract around 28 million visitors by its conclusion on October 13.
