A magnitude 4 earthquake has hit near the Turkish Aegean city of Izmir early on Tuesday morning, the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said, as quoted by the Anadolu Agency.
The earthquake was recorded at 2:18 am local time, with its epicentre in the waters of the Aegean Sea in the Gulf of Izmir, at a depth of 7.28 kilometres.
There are no reports of damage caused by the earthquake so far.
