Members of Parliament will make their 11th attempt to elect a Chair in the 51st National Assembly here on Friday.

In a repeat of the previous nomination, There Is Such a People (TISP) nominated Silvi Kirilov, the Bulgarian Socialist Party(BSP)-United Left coalition nominated Nataliya Kiselova, Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) nominated the leader of Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB), Atanas Atanassov, and the far-right party Vazrazhdane nominated Petar Petrov.

Toshko Yordanov from TISP stated, "Silvi Kirilov is the only solution to the situation."

When presenting Kiselova's nomination, Borislav Gutsanov of BSP-United Left noted that all 20 left-wing MPs signed CC-DB's cordon sanitaire declaration. This was CC-DB's condition to support Kiselova's candidacy. "We hope that with the necessary votes, a chair will be elected," Gutsanov added.

Nadezhda Yordanova from CC-DB reaffirmed Atanassov's nomination. "This is the only candidacy that offers a chance for this National Assembly not to be dissolved in two months," Yordanova said. "This candidacy is supported by the majority that wants a regular government," she added.
