site.btaBahrain’s Diplomatic Academy Chief Talks with Bulgaria's Foreign Minister, Signs Agreement in Sofia

Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov held a working meeting in Sofia with Muneera Al Khalifa, Director General of Bahrain’s Academy for Diplomatic Studies, which is responsible for the training and development of the nation’s diplomatic corps, Kondov’s ministry reported on Wednesday. The guest is in Bulgaria at the invitation of the Diplomatic Institute under the Foreign Minister.

The sides discussed ways to invigorate bilateral relations in the context of developing the dialogue between the European Union and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council. They considered the launch of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Bulgaria and Bahrain.

Kondov and Al Khalifa talked about the exchange of good practice and expertise in diplomatic training. Diplomatic Institute Director Tanya Mihailova took part in the talks.

Al Khalifa delivered a public lecture at the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry titled From Gilgamesh to Globalization: The History of Bahrain.

Bulgaria’s Diplomatic Institute signed a memorandum of cooperation with Bahrain’s Academy for Diplomatic Studies, the first international accord signed by the Academy.
