site.btaHealth Minister Hinkov Takes Part in OECD Health Ministerial Meeting, High-Level Policy Forum

Bulgarian Health Minister Hristo Hinkov represented Bulgaria at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) High-Level Policy Forum preceding the OECD Health Ministerial Meeting, the Health Ministry said in a press release on Tuesday. The event, which is taking place in Paris between January 21 and 25, brings together OECD member and candidate countries, international organizations, NGOs and social partners.

"The healthcare system is undoubtedly one of the most important pillars of any country's economy. [...] Our efforts are aimed at stimulating the healthcare sector’s digitalization, optimizing the processes of providing healthcare services and medical care", Hinkov said, adding that data shows increased traceability in healthcare, an increasing reach of healthcare providers, and better connectivity to Bulgaria’s National Health Information System.

The forum discussed topics concerning human-centred innovation, risks and opportunities of introducing artificial intelligence in healthcare, genomics and genetics in healthcare, among others.
