North Macedonia President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova is set to attend the performance of Giuseppe Verdi's opera Nabucco by the Republic of North Macedonia National Opera and Ballet in Sofia on September 13, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of North Macedonia Timčo Mucunski said in a statement to the media in Skopje on Tuesday.

Culture and Tourism Minister of North Macedonia Zoran Ljutkov will also be a part of the North Macedonia delegation.

Mucunski said that the schedule for the upcoming meetings between the delegation and officials in Sofia is currently being arranged.

Radio Free Europe reported that media outlets in Bulgaria and North Macedonia have claimed that a meeting between Siljanovska and Bulgarian President Rumen Radev will take place during her Sofia visit. There has been no official confirmation of this from Siljanovska's office.

Mucunski, quoted by Radio Free Europe, said: "This visit aims to strengthen relations, using cultural diplomacy as a tool for better understanding between the two countries at a time when there is unnecessary tension in bilateral relations. We need to find a way to normalization because this would be in the interest of trade and economy, as well as political cooperation."
