Scientists Establish Recovery of Scallop Species Last Found off Bulgarian Coast in 1960s
Flexopecten glaber is a Mediterranean species that colonised the Black Sea some 5,000 to 7,000 years ago. The species used to be rare in Bulgarian Black Sea waters during the first half of the previous century, and the available historical data suggest its probable extinction since the 1960s.
