Bulgaria Supports Models Suggested by EBRD

Sofia, April 8 (BTA) - Meeting with a team of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on Friday, Deputy Economy Minister Lyuben Petrov said that the Economy Ministry is looking for successful models for the Bulgarian economy and the country supports the models suggested by the EBRD. The EBRD delegation is led by Larisa Manastirli, EBRD Director for Bulgaria.

Deputy Minister Petrov briefed the experts with Bulgaria's macroeconomic indicators, underscoring the country's stability despite the world global crisis and the change of several governments.

The EBRD's representatives familiarized Deputy Minister Petkov with the possibilities for cooperation with the bank to improve business conditions and corporate management in Bulgaria. The bank is developing projects related to e-government in order to relax the procedure for small and medium-sized businesses when filing public procurement bids online, for e-services in justice, and providing technical assistance to boost expertise in the civil service.
