Bulgaria to Build Two Warships

Bourgas, on the Black Sea, April 10 (BTA) - Speaking to reporters in Bourgas on Sunday, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said that two warships, worth nearly 800 million leva, will be built at Bulgarian shipyards. Borissov attended a naval training for combatting migratory pressure at sea.

The joint training of the Navy and the border police took place in the Bay of Burgas and included the frigate Druzki, a helicopter, three motorboats and inflatable boats.

Borissov said that Bulgaria has demonstrated that it can guard its borders on its own from illegal migrants and in order to continue to set a good example it has to be prepared for all possible scenarios. He gave good marks to the training.

Attending the training were Interior Minister Roumyana Buchvarova, Defence Minister Nikolai Nenchev, Defence Chief Lieutenant General Konstantin Popov, Interior Ministry Chief Secretary Georgi Kostov, Navy Commander Rear Admiral Mitko Petev and Burgas Naval Base Commander Malen Chubenkov.
