Four Memorandums
of Cooperation Signed
with Bangladesh

Sofia, May 20 (BTA) - Four memorandums of cooperation between Bulgaria and Bangladesh were signed in Sofia Friday in the presence of the two countries' prime ministers Boyko Borissov and Sheikh Hasina, the Bulgarian government press service reported. The memorandums concern economic ties and relations between the diplomatic institutes in Sofia and Dhaka.

Borissov expressed his conviction that these instruments, which stipulate concrete forms of interaction, will pave the way for new partnerships.

The two prime ministers discussed ways to boost bilateral economic cooperation, underscoring its potential, particularly in the field of information and communication technology. Borissov said Bangladeshi companies can invest in Bulgaria's high-tech sector, information and bio technology, and in the country's first science and technology park, the Sofia Tech Park. He also noted the good opportunities to establish joint ventures in agriculture and the food industry, including the production of fertilizers which can increase crop yields in Bangladesh.

Borissov thanked Hasina for taking part in the Global Women Leaders' Forum in Sofia earlier in the week. PK/VE
