Survey: 72% of Bulgarians Own Personal Computer

Sofia, June 27 (BTA) - Seventy-two percent of Bulgarians own a personal computer, shows a survey commissioned by Intel in May among 1,000 respondents. Ninety-six per cent of Bulgarians aged 30-39 have a computer at home.

Over 90 per cent of Bulgarians believe that owning a computer is an integral part of the modern way of living.

Respondents spend up to 3 hours a day at their computer. People use computers for information (86.4 per cent), entertainment (78.1 per cent), and access to social media (76.9 per cent). People under 29 spend 90 minutes more at their computer compared with those aged over 40.

On average, Bulgarians are willing to spend 630 leva on their first personal computer and the amount varies depending on education and age. Those with university degree and under 49 are willing to spend more money.

The survey was carried out between 1,000 respondents (48.1 per cent male and 51.9 per cent female).
