22,500 Youths under 29 Find Employment through Labour Ministry Schemes in 2016

Kurdzhali, Southern Bulgaria, October 1 (BTA) - In 2016, some 22,500 youths under 29 found employment in schemes run by the Labour and Social Policy Ministry, said Labour Minister Zornitsa Roussinova in Kurdzhali on Saturday. She took part in a youth career development forum, organized by MEP Andrey Novakov.

Roussinova said that between 2014 and 2020, 230 million leva will be made available under the Operational Programme for Human Resources Development for youth employment schemes. She said that under the scheme 40 per cent of employed stay with the same employer.

Minister Roussinova also said that in 2017 for the first time in Bulgaria young entrepreneurs will be given a chance to start a small business on microloans of up to 50,000 leva.
