BSP-Left Bulgaria Group Elects New Leadership

Sofia, May 11 (BTA) - The MPs of BSP-Left Bulgaria unanimously elected Kornelia Ninova floor leader on Tuesday. Ninova was elected leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party on Sunday.

She proposed changes in the group's leadership, which will have two deputy floor leaders instead of three.

Atanas Merdjanov and Chavdar Georgiev resigned as deputy floor leaders. Ninova is taking over their responsibilities - law making and contacts with the other parliamentary groups.

Roumen Gechev is the new Deputy Floor Leader responsible for parliamentary control of the government. Zhelyo Boychev will be Spokesperson, Filip Popov will be Secretary and Georgi Turnovaliiski will be responsible for the group's finances.

Angel Naydenov and Kristian Vigenin keep their posts as Deputy Floor Leader and Secretary respectively.
