The concert "Chamber Music Masterpieces" by Trio Infinito will be held at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin (BCIB) on January 10 at 7pm, the institute said on Friday. The trio, consisting of Gergana Nestorova (piano), Martin Stoyanov (clarinet) and Syon Najman (cello), will perform works by Johannes Brahms, Gabriel Faure and Robert Muczynski. Admission is free. Prior registration is required at bki-anmeldung@bulgarischeskulturinstitut.de.
The BCIB says on its website that Infinito will take the audience to a captivating world of sound of the clarinet, the cello and the piano. The trio will present a varied programme which is an impressive demonstration of the stylistic polyvalence and the tonal depth of this outstanding group.
The centrepiece of the show is a late Romantic trio by Johannes Brahms, which showcases the emotional range of the Romantic period and is considered to be a milestone for this configuration of instruments. The second composition is a piano trio by Gabriel Faure, which combines the elegance of Romanticism and the colourfulness of French Impressionism. It will introduce listeners to a realm of refinement and depth. The concert will end with Robert Muczynski's Fantasy Trio, a remarkable example of the development of the genre into the 20th century. It stands out with its modern tonal schemes, playful dynamism and instrumental brilliance.
