In the July – December 2024 period the natural gas prices for non-household consumers, including all taxes, fees and VAT, increased slightly for all groups in comparison to January – June 2024 period, the National Statistical Institute announced on its webpage on March 31, 2025. The largest increase - by 3%, is recorded in the group with annual consumption between 10,000 GJ and 100,000 GJ.
In the same period, an increase in natural gas prices, including all taxes, fees and VAT, is also observed for all groups of household customers. The largest increase - by 6.2%, is recorded for the smallest consumers in the group with annual consumption up to 20 GJ.
In 2024, compared to the previous year, the natural gas prices with all taxes, fees and VAT for non-household customers decrease by more than 20% for all groups on annual basis. The largest decrease - by 23.1%, is registered in the group with annual consumption between 100,000 GJ and 1,000,000 GJ.
On annual basis in 2024 compared to 2023, a decrease by an average of over 19% is observed for household consumers in natural gas prices, including all taxes, fees and VAT for all groups. The largest decrease, 21.1%, is registered for the biggest consumers in the group with annual consumption over 200 GJ, and for the group with annual consumption from 20 GJ to 200 GJ, which includes the majority of household consumers, the decrease is 19.8%.
The main reason for the annual price reduction for all groups and types of end customers is a decrease in the price of natural gas - by an average of 30%, the NSI reported. This price is part of the ‘Energy and Supply’ component and constitutes about 60% of the final price of natural gas for the consumers. An additional factor is the average decrease by 20% in the price for transmission and access (including capacity) on the gas transmission network, which is part of the ‘Network’ component.
The data presented on the National Statistical Institute’s website is representative for the country. All suppliers of natural gas provide data on household and end non-household consumers, for quantities delivered through the gas transmission/gas distribution network.
