Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh and Israeli Ambassador to Bulgaria Yosef Levi Sfari discussed the opportunities and strategy for attracting more tourists, the Tourism Ministry said in a press release Friday. They also talked about the opportunities for joint initiatives in the field of cultural, spa and wellness tourism as well as the organization of promotional events directed at the Israeli market.
Borshosh said that for years, Israeli tourists have been among the most active foreign visitors in Bulgaria, and this country has the potential to attract even larger numbers of them. "Our cultural and historical ties, combined with the various tourism opportunities - from ski and spa to seaside and culinary experiences - make Bulgaria a preferred destination. The Tourism Ministry works actively on expanding the cooperation with the Israeli tourism sector so that we can offer even better conditions for their trips here," Borshosh noted.
The Ambassador noted that the Bulgarian seaside, particularly during the winter season, has the potential to attract many more Israeli tourists because of the tranquility and excellent shopping opportunities it offers. Sfari expressed certainty that with joint efforts, the bilateral partnership in tourism can be enhanced, including through more frequent flights and popularizing of Bulgarian destinations among Israeli tourists.
