The mountain rescue service with the Bulgarian Red Cross Thursday warned of a hightened risk in the mountains as temperatures get higher. At most places in the highlands the temperatures will be above freezing and the weather will be quiet, with occasional clouds.
The steep temperature climb hides risks, said the rescue service.
They also said that there were no accidents in the mountains on Wednesday.
According to the latest weather forecast of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, there will be considerable cloud in the mountains but it will stay mostly dry. Wind will be moderate. The highs at 1,200 m above sea level will be 6C and at 2,000 m around minus 1 C.
