Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov will take part in a closed ministerial meeting in Sofia on energy connectivity dialogues in support of regional partnerships for an improved energy transition, the ministry's press office said.

Representatives from the UK, Moldova, Hungary, Greece, Azerbaijan, the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the industry will take part in the meeting organized by the Ministry of Energy on February 25.

Bulgaria presented this initiative at the 29th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Baku, in November 2024. The concept supports advancing interregional cooperation for more sustainable, secure and clean energy systems.

Later on Friday, Minister Stankov and the other participants in the meeting will take part in the annual Energy Summit, organized by the Capital, where they will present the results of the ministerial meeting. The conference will be held at the Sofia Event Center.

As part of the event programme, the Ministry of Energy and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Bulgaria are organizing a discussion on geothermal energy, which will be opened by Minister Stankov and the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Bulgaria Simon van der Burg, the announcement said.
