The Foreign Ministries of Bulgaria and Slovakia held political consultations in Bratislava on Thursday, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry said.
The Bulgarian delegation was led by Deputy Minister Elena Shekerletova. The Slovak delegation was headed by State Secretary Marek Estok.
The sides affirmed their willingness to maintain their active political dialogue and deepen bilateral cooperation in economy, energy, education, science, innovation, culture, and tourism.
The discussions also focused on issues on the European and international agenda, including the next EU Multiannual Financial Framework, the EU institutional reform, competitiveness, security and defence, EU enlargement, migration, and the situation in Ukraine, among others.
While in Bratislava, Deputy Minister Shekerletova visited the Hristo Botev Bulgarian secondary school, where she met with students and teachers. She also had a working meeting with the Director of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute, Vania Radeva, to discuss ways to deepen cultural cooperation and promote Bulgarian culture abroad.
