site.btaWork Underway on New National Strategy for Sports Development


A working group consisting of representatives from state institutions and organizations has started work on drafting a new National Strategy for the Development of Physical Activity, Physical Education, Sports, and Sports Tourism, the Youth and Sports Ministry said in a press release on Friday.
Commenting on the initiative, Deputy Sports Minister Stoyan Andonov said: "Drafting a new National Strategy will provide a clear framework for the development of physical activity and sports at the national level. Our joint efforts will create opportunities for better coordination and the implementation of innovations across different sectors. The new document will ensure the conditions and infrastructure necessary for the sustainable development of sports, and will contribute to positive impacts on public health, social integration, and economic growth."
The strategy will be drafted by experts from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Council of Ministers, the Health Ministry, the Education and Science Ministry, the Interior Ministry, the Defence Ministry, the Labour and Social Policy Ministry, the National Association of the Municipalities in Republic of Bulgaria, the National Statistical Institute, the Vasil Levski National Sports Academy, the Bulgarian Olympic Committee, the Anti-Doping Centre, and the Association of Bulgarian Sports Federations.
