site.btaTransport Minister Karadjov to Join Thessaloniki Summit on Regional Development
Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadjov is set to take part in the 8th Thessaloniki Summit, the event’s website announced on Monday. Karadjov is set speak on February 18, as part of the EU Transport Corridors and Southeast Europe's Transport Infrastructure panel.
Other Bulgarian attendees include InvestBulgaria Agency Executive Director Mila Nenova and the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Management Board Deputy Chair Todor Tabakov.
The two-day conference in Greece’s second-largest city is set to bring together regional and international experts, government officials, and industry leaders to discuss economic and industrial policies shaping Southeast Europe’s future. The event concludes with an official dinner on Wednesday, attended by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
This year’s summit, themed Navigating the Shift: Economic & Industrial Policy and Southeast Europe's Future, addresses geopolitical dynamics, EU-US relations, migration trends, and the Balkans’ EU accession prospects. Discussions also focus on energy cooperation, infrastructure, investment opportunities, and advancements in technology and artificial intelligence.
Greek ministers, including Christos Staikouras (Infrastructure and Transport), Nikos Panagiotopoulos (Migration and Asylum), and Christos Stylianides (Shipping and Island Policy), are expected to attend, along with opposition leaders Nikos Androulakis (PASOK-Movement for Change) and Sokratis Famellos (SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance). EU Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism Apostolos Tzitzikostas is also expected to participate.
The Thessaloniki Summit is organized by the Association of Industries of Greece in partnership with the Delphi Economic Forum.
