site.btaBulgaria and Bavaria Discuss Strengthening Economic Relations
Deepening of the Bulgarian-Bavarian economic relations and measures to attract investment were discussed by Deputy Ministers of Innovation and Growth, Veselina Mincheva and Georgi Angelov, and representatives of the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy in Munich on Thursday, the Ministry of Innovation and Growth reported.
The Bavarian side was represented by Tobias Gotthardt, State Secretary at the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy; Sonja Miekley, Managing Director of the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce; Katrin Lederer, Executive Director International Pavilions at NurnbergMesse; Moritz Seiler, head of the Economic Section at the German Embassy in Sofia.
Mincheva pointed out that Bulgaria and Bavaria have long-standing active economic ties in numerous areas. Bavaria is one of the three German federal states with largest investment presence in Bulgaria and the state with the highest share in bilateral trade. More than 940 Bavarian companies are active in production and trade in Bulgaria.
Angelov focused on the prospects in the field of high technologies, microelectronics, defence and space technologies.
The Bavarian side expressed readiness for cooperation in microelectronics, AI and the space sector. Gotthardt emphasized the need for support for start-ups, pointing out that they are a good basis for interstate cooperation because of their willingness to exchange experience.
