The country's major autumn crops have been harvested at 100%, with 6,759,400 tonnes of wheat, 1,019,100 tonnes of barley, 171,700 tonnes of oilseed rape, 14,700 tonnes of rye and 74,600 tonnes of triticale harvested, according to operational data of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food as of September 5, 2024. Wheat and barley production increase compared to 2023 by 2.6% and nearly 40%, respectively. At the same time, due mainly to a contraction in area, there are decreases in the production of rapeseed (by 26.2%), rye (by 25.1%) and triticale (by 6.2%). This is according to an operational analysis for main agricultural crops published Thursday on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture.

As of September 5, 2024, higher production of sunflower (by 27.8%) and maize (by more than 50%) is reported compared to the same period of 2023.

The lavender harvest is 26.5% below last year.

Prices of the main cereals continue to move below 2023 levels, with declines ranging from 5.9% (barley) to 11% (bread wheat). Annual increases were recorded for sunflower (6.9%) and rapeseed (7.9%).
