Significant increase in the flow of Greek tourists is noted in Pamporovo in the days after Bulgaria's accession into the Schengen area, Pamporovo resort said Tuesday.
There is also increased interest by tourists from Moldova, Serbia, North Macedonia and Romania in the resort this winter season, according to company marketing data. Around 10-15% growth of tourists is expected in Pamporovo during the ski season, judging by the occupancy around the holidays and bookings until the end of winter. The skiing conditions in the resort are excellent, with Pamporovo and Mechi Chal ski areas and the children's and Fun Park fully operational.
Greek tourists have seen an increase in unorganized groups booking holidays in Pamporovo on their own and arriving mainly through the Makaza border crossing. The ski resort is welcoming Bulgarian, English, Irish, Greek, Turkish, Serbian, Romanian and Moldovan tourists during what is shaping up to be a successful winter season.
The interest in Pamporovo as a destination grows every year, attracting more and more foreign and Bulgarian tourists, "Pamporovo" AD said. Along with excellent conditions for skiing and snowboarding, the company relies on spa, relaxation, recreation programmes, conditions for sports such as swimming and fitness. This winter the resort organizes Saturday DJ après-ski parties in Ski Centre 3, Studenets.
