Nearly 325,000 people have received heating benefits for the 2023/2024 heating season, the Agency for Social Assistance said. This targeted support is applied for between July 1 and  October 31 each year. It is intended for the five months of the winter period - from November to March, and this year the allowance was BGN 546.95.

This year, most targeted heating aid was granted in the districts of Plovdiv, Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik, Vratsa, and Pleven.
