site.btaEC Extends Ukraine-related Aid until End-June 2024

The European Commission has extended the deadline for implementing the Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework assistance measures to support the economy following Russia's aggression against Ukraine until June 30 of 2024 and increased the aid ceiling to EUR 280,000. The communication was published on Tuesday in the Official Journal of the European Union, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food said.

The decision comes after a series of meetings between Agriculture and Food Minister Kiril Vatev and EU Agriculture Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski, the latest of which was in Brussels on Monday. Minister Vatev presented the position that Bulgaria continues to insist that the individual limit per enterprise in primary agricultural production be abolished.

Minister Vatev also held a meeting with the agriculture ministers of Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania, where they confirmed that together they will insist on the continuation of Ukrainian aid for the whole of 2024.
