The Ministry of Tourism is part of an interdepartmental group established to simplify the current procedures and shorten the time frames for issuing tourist visas. Complete digitization is planned by 2025, Bulgarian Tourism Minister Zaritsa Dinkova said at a meeting with Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Ersoy in London on Monday. "It is important to work together towards improving the transport connectivity between Bulgaria and Turkiye through more effective use of the daily express railway link between Istanbul and Sofia as well as of regular flights between the two cities," she said, as quoted by her Ministry.

Easing the travel between Bulgaria and Turkiye will significantly increase the number of Turkish tourists, Ersoy said.

At the meeting, the sides discussed their countries' practices in professional education as well as the opportunities through which more young people would choose the field of tourism for their career.

Options will be considered for cooperation in winter tourism, the Tourism Ministry reported. That can happen through joint projects for attracting tourists from neighbouring countries in the Balkans and, at a later stage, from distant markets.
