Six Indonesian producers are presenting their culinary products, Sasa Coconut, Mahorahora coconut palm sugar, Alko coffee, Walini tea and Murni tea, at the building of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), the Chamber said on Monday. The members of the trade mission for Indonesian culinary products are visiting Sofia from November 6 to November 8. The visit was organized by the Embassy of Indonesia, the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the BCCI.

The event was organized within the framework of the Indonesia Spice Up the World: Rendang Goes to Europe programme and follows the visit of the Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy to Bulgaria in June 2023.

A press conference and presentation of the Indonesian companies with bilateral meetings at the BCCI is scheduled for November 7. A visit of the business delegation to various Bulgarian commercial establishments is scheduled for November 8.

The companies are looking for contacts with Bulgarian distributors, retailers and wholesalers, culinary specialists and restaurateurs. As a strategy for popularizing Indonesian spices and culinary products both in Bulgaria and abroad, the trade mission aims to open up greater opportunities for Indonesian products on the Bulgarian market, said the BCCI. Additionally, it will stimulate the establishment of more Indonesian restaurants and encourage them to have a good image and management so that Indonesian processed foods and spices can gain more popularity on the world stage.

Indonesia Spice Up the World: Rendang Goes to Europe is a joint programme involving all stakeholders to promote Indonesian culinary art. The programme aims to reach an export value of USD 2 billion by 2024 and encourage the opening of four thousand Indonesian restaurants abroad.
