site.btaSofia's Art Gallery 158 to Display Painting Exhibition by Mira Bachvarova

Visitors of Sofia's Art Gallery 158 can see 30 paintings by fashion designer Mira Bachvarova between April 29 and May 5 in an exhibition entitled Private, the organizers said on Wednesday.

There will be a designated corner for trying on some of Bachvarova's eccentric garments. The designer is known for her provocative runway shows and performances, which, through phenomenal design, address some of the most controversial topics in the modern society.

According to Bachvarova, "Art is for certain people who are able to enjoy it. The culture of observing art is meant for personal use. It can be viewed by many, but it is a private experience."

Mira Bachvarova was born in Sofia. Graduated from the National Academy of Arts. Member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists. Received an award for alternative and avant-garde fashion at the Code Fashion Awards during Fashion Week in 2023 for her original theatrical costumes. Recipient of the Golden Needle and Businesswoman of the Year awards.
