site.bta"One in Three" Exhibition at Sofia's Doza Gallery Sparks Conversation on Reproductive Health

The exhibition One in Three: Subjective Perspectives on Abortion and Infertility, opened until March 8 at Sofia's Doza Gallery, aims to provoke public dialogue on reproductive health and social taboos, initiator Maria Stanisheva told BTA's Vanya Suharova.
The exhibition combines interactive installations, therapeutic writing workshops, and a discussion forum, highlighting issues affecting one-third of women worldwide.
The project team is also working on a unique documentary blending personal stories from Bulgaria, Romania, France, and the USA with animation by Italian artist Martina Scarpelli. The documentary is supported by the Bulgarian National Film Centre and aims for completion within two years.
Originally launched in Bucharest, the exhibition is expanding internationally, engaging local artists to reflect diverse cultural perspectives on reproductive health.
Artist Kalina Hristova contributes with Dreamed Tears, exploring empathy and emotional healing through symbolic installations. Her work challenges societal taboos on pregnancy loss, infertility, and reproductive rights.
"Our goal is open dialogue and empowerment around women's choices and experiences," said Stanisheva.
