A commemoration of St Cyril, who, together with his brother, St Methodius, devised the earliest Slav alphabet in the 9th century, is on the February programme of events of the Earth and Man National Museum (EMNM) in Sofia. Four exhibitions will also be held there during the month, the EMNM said on Friday.

The commemorative event for St Cyril will take place on February 14, the date of his death in 869.

One of the upcoming exhibitions will present the museum's new acquisitions of 2024. The other exhibitions are titled "The Green Tale of Stone," "In the Wonderful World of Concretions: Collection of Vanyusha Ivanov," and "Smart Minerals for Smartphones."
