Caretaker Culture Minister Naiden Todorov visited the oldest independent film school in France and Europe, Conservatoire Libre du Cinema Francais (CLCF) and held a working meeting with Benattou Benichou, head of the school and famous French producer, as well as with Mr. Philippe Saal, secretary of the Association of Production Directors and executive producer, said the line ministry on Wednesday.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possibilities of using the French model in creating a work regulation for children in film productions. The French system is known for being the most child-friendly system, aimed exclusively at protecting their physical and mental health. For this reason, Bulgaria wishes to borrow the social model for protecting children's health. Bulgaria has never had such a regulation and the Ministry of Culture is currently working on its establishment.
The possibilities for establishing partnerships between French and Bulgarian institutions, such as film schools, universities or cultural organizations, were discussed; funding and partnerships, including under programmes such as Creative Europe, as well as partnerships with local and international institutions.
The CLCF is a film and television school, established in 1963, that offers training in directing, dramaturgy, production management. The teachers at CLCF are the biggest names in French cinema and the graduates of this school are leading professionals in the film industry.
