Visual artist Martian Tabakov finds that in the urban environment in Bulgaria, there are rarely sculptures that can enliven it in a nice aesthetic way. "Things are placed that have no character and seem to only fill a given space in order to be pleasant and to appeal to people. It lacks that educational character of art, which is very important to show us new ways, to make us think and see possibilities in the world around us", Tabakov said in an exclusive interview with BTA's Varna correspondent Valentina Dobrincheva.

The artist presented his musical sculptures in Varna, for which he received a special award from the Union of Bulgarian Artists. They were arranged in the ReBonkers Cultural Centre, where, according to the author, there are wonderful acoustics for the compositions he improvises on the specific instruments. The professional musician Valeri Pashov joined his concert in Varna.

The exhibition was already presented in Bulgaria and in Prague, with the audience being very excited every time, Tabakov noted, because the sculptures are interactive and anyone can touch them and extract sounds from them. He pointed out that that these instruments are worth continuing to use, and his future intentions are to record music with them in a proper studio, as well as to create new ones, for which he already has prepared sketches.
