site.btaBulgarian High-School Students Win Three Medals at International Geography Olympiad
Bulgarian high-school students won one silver and two bronze medals at the 20th International Geography Olympiad in Dublin between August 19 and 24, the Education and Science Ministry reported on Monday.
The silver was awarded to Alexander Iliev of the Paissii Hilendarski Mathematics School of Sofia. The bronzes were earned by Ana Pashova of the Prof. Konstantin Galabov 91st German Language School in Sofia and Bozhidar Rizov of First Private Mathematics School, also in the capital.
About 200 students from 50 countries had a test, did field work and sat a multimedia exam during the Olympiad.
The Bulgarian team was led by Chief Assistant Professor Dr Kaloyan Tsvetkov, who teaches at the St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia, and Daniel Hristov, a teacher of the Academician Lyubomir Chakalov National School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Sofia.
