site.btaCC-DB’s Ivaylo Mirchev: Power-Holders Sabotaged Entry into the Euro Area

The power-holders sabotaged the country’s entry into the eurozone, we will expect answers from GERB, Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria MP Ivaylo Mirchev told journalists in relation to amendments to the  Bulgarian National Bank Act that were rejected on first reading. 

“The euro area is currently under threat, even though we are already responsible for it. We have no idea why GERB did this,” Mirchev said. “We will be a fierce opposition, but for the right things regarding the euro area we will support the government,” he reminded.

In connection with the information that the opposition will not lead any parliamentary committees, Ivaylo Mirchev commented that this shows the "style and manner" in which the ruling majority will work.

Asked whether they would support the lifting of the immunity of Democracy, Rights and Freedoms (DRF) MP Dzheyhan Ibryamov, Mirchev said:   "We have a principled position that immunities should always be granted, no matter who is involved."
