The Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra and National Philharmonic Choir will perform composer John Williams' works at Ljubljana Festival on August 22, the Philharmonic told BTA on Tuesday. The programme will include music from Harry Potter, Superman, Star Wars, Home Alone, The Extraterrestrial, Schindler’s List, Indiana Jones, all composed by John Williams.
The Sofia Philharmonic was invited to take part in the Festival after its highly successful concert with the same programme in Skopje in spring 2023, when representatives of the Festival were present in the hall.
Maestro Nayden Todorov, who has repeatedly admitted that John Williams is one of his favourite composers, will once again take the conductor's stand.
John Williams is one of the most awarded and successful American composers with 5 Academy Awards, 20 Grammy Awards, 4 Golden Globe Awards, 7 BAFTA Awards, 2 Emmy Awards.
The 72nd edition of the Ljubljana Festival will run until September 3.
