The Golden Cat 2024 Magic Gathering began in Gabrovo on Thursday. It will take place until March 17 and will see globally recognised names from the magical world competing for the Golden Cat Award, the organisers informed.

"From this year, the competition for the Golden Cat Award and the title Best Magician has been certified according to FISM (Fédération Internationale des Sociétés Magiques) standards", said the team of Golden Cat 2024, adding that they are again the only ones in Eastern Europe to receive this honour. The organisers define the event as the biggest magic convention in the Balkans. 

The official guest of the event will be Walter Rolfo, television producer of magic shows in Italy, producer of the Masters of Magic World Convention and main organiser of the next European Championship of Magic in 2024 and World Championship of Magic in 2025. 

The Golden Cat 2024 will also be attended by FISM President Andrea Baioni, FISM Vice-President Xavier Tapias, President of the French Federation of Conjurers Serge Odin and world-renowned magician Lee Alex from England, as they will form the authoritative jury in the competition.

Dani Belev, President of the Quick Hands Project and Creator of the Golden Cat Magic Gathering, said that the festival has been organised for the last 13 years, with participating magicians coming from all over the world to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of what they call the friendliest magic gathering.
