Stara Zagora State Puppet Theatre’s performance Hotel has been included in the selection of the Novi Sad Theatre Festival, which will be held on May 8-15 in Serbia, the theatre’s press centre said.

The Novi Sad Theatre Festival is an international theatre festival for children and youth established in 2021, when the city of Novi Sad was declared European Capital of Culture, in honour of the Novi Sad Youth Theatre’s 90th anniversary.

The festival is held annually in the second week of May and includes 15 productions from the Balkans and Europe.

The Stara Zagora Puppet Theatre puppet-theatrical performance was first performed on stage in April 2022. "This is a show about love at first sight, about those few seconds that seem to make time stand still when eyes accidentally meet," the production team said.

The author and director of Hotel is Lyubomir Zhelev. Nataliya Gocheva is the set designer, and Todor Vassilev is the composer.

Hotel is a collaboration of the Stara Zagora State Puppet Theatre and Monkey's Theatre. It is realized with the financial support of the National Culture Fund under the Debuts Programme.

The performance will be presented on Thursday at the Stara Zagora State Puppet Theatre and on February 9 at the Sofia Puppet Theatre.
