Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev Tuesday conferred with Ambassadors Flemming Stender of Denmark, Kirsti Pohjankukka of Finland and Katarina Rangnitt of Sweden to discuss the need to continue supporting Ukraine in its legitimate right to self-defence against Russian aggression, Georgiev's Ministry said.
The sides concurred that the war in Ukraine must end with the establishment of a comprehensive, just and lasting peace, based on the principles of international law and with full respect for Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. Georgiev stressed that nothing about Ukraine should be decided without Ukraine and a united, strong EU.
Topics on the EU agenda, Trans-Atlantic cooperation, security and defence were also on the agenda. It was agreed that the EU-US Trans-Atlantic partnership is fundamental to global security, and maintaining it is important for both sides in the face of growing international challenges.
