site.btaEU Could Give Ukraine Access to European Satellites for Data Exchange

The European Union may grant Ukraine access to Europe's GOVSATCOM satellite system for data transmission, a European Commission spokesperson said in response to questions about the risk of disrupting the Ukrainian military's access to the Starlink service.
The spokesperson pointed out that the European system is scheduled to be operational this year and reach full capacity by 2030, but it is possible to reach these checkpoints earlier. The system consists of the satellites of France, Germany, Italy and Luxembourg. It was set up mainly to exchange confidential data between European governments.
It is important to remain united and firm in support for Ukraine, the spokesperson said, adding that for the EU, the US remains an ally.
