Conditions for hiking and winter sports in the mountains are good, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) told BTA on Tuesday.

The weather is cold, sunny, clear and calm, with some clouds in the Rhodopes and the Balkan Mountains. Temperatures range from minus 10C to minus 1C. 

National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology's mountain weather forecast: Mostly sunny. Moderate to strong east-northeasterly wind. Highs: 5C at 1,200 m, minus 1C at 2,000 m.
