Tervel Zamfirov became junior world champion in parallel giant slalom here on Tuesday, and his sister Malena Zamfirova snagged the silver in the same discipline at the FIS Snowboard Junior World Championships in Poland. This was 15-year-old Zamfirova's first world championship and first medal.

Five other Bulgarians competed in the men's parallel giant slalom. Petar Gergyovski finished fifth, Georgi Karadzhinov was 16th, and the remaining three - Ivaylo Ermenkov, Martin Zamfirov, and Dimitar Vasilev - dropped out in the qualifications.

In addition to Malena Zamfirova, four Bulgarians competed in the women's slalom. Bilyana Zamfirova, Aglika Georgieva, Andrea Kotsinova, and Anita Raycheva all dropped out in the qualifications.
