At its weekly meeting, the caretaker government amended its decree on the participation of naval ships in the Mine Countermeasures Task Group Black Sea (MCM Black Sea), the government press service said Wednesday. Bulgaria is contributing an auxiliary ship - a type of vessel which does not change the total number of warships - for participation in the activities of  the MCM Black Sea.

Bulgarian personnel assigned to positions in MCM Black Sea is to increase to up to 15 servicepersons from up to 10 now.

The governments of Bulgaria, Romania and Turkiye signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of MCM Black Sea in January 2024.

The Cabinet also authorized the participation of up to 10 servicepersons from the National Deployable Communication and Information System Module of NATO in NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU).
