GERB-UDF considers the timing chosen by caretaker Prime Minister Glavchev to urge Parliament to give a special mandate to the caretaker government to sign the Security Cooperation Agreement between the Republic of Bulgaria and Ukraine as extremely unfortunate, GERB MP Daniel Mitov said Wednesday.
"At the end of the life of this caretaker government, a text is being proposed that will cause overly "heated dynamics", Mitov noted. "We are currently in talks to form a solid parliamentary majority to elect a cabinet with a four-year term, and this type of proposal could even hinder the negotiation process and create undesirable dynamics", he said. Mitov called on PM Glavchev to withdraw this agreement, since, in his opinion, such a decision should be taken by a regular cabinet.
"This agreement is long overdue. It should have been signed a year ago, when other NATO and EU member states were negotiating the parameters for such agreements and signing them", Mitov elaborated.
