There is heavy truck traffic at some of Bulgaria's border control checkpoints with Romania and Greece, the Border Police General Directorate said on its website.

At the border with Romania, there is heavy outbound truck traffic at the Oryahovo, Nikopol, Durankulak and Kardam checkpoints. Temporary traffic changes have been introduced across the Danube Bridge at Ruse due to major repairs on the Bulgarian section of the bridge. Traffic is restricted to one lane and is regulated by traffic lights. Drivers can take alternative routes through the checkpoints at Silistra, Kardam, Durankulak, Kaynardzha, and Krushari. The Kaynardzha and Krushari checkpoints are closed to trucks and are open to passenger cars from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

There is heavy outbound truck traffic at the Kulata checkpoint with Greece. Only cars and vans are allowed to pass through the Makaza, Zlatograd, and Ivaylovgrad border crossing points.

Traffic is normal at all checkpoints at the borders with Serbia, the Republic of North Macedonia, and Turkiye. Traffic through the Malko Tarnovo border crossing with Turkiye is temporarily carried out in one lane due to reconstruction works.
