Razgrad Municipality Thursday organized a working meeting between village mayors and representatives of Energo Pro, the electricity distributor in North-Central and Northeastern Bulgaria, said the municipal administration.

The meeting, which aimed to reduce the risk of disasters due to a lack of coordination and communication with the distributor company, was opened by Razgrad Mayor Dobrin Dobrev and attended by mayors of settlements and villages in the municipality, as well as the company's manager of the Ruse and Razgrad Regional Service Centre, Boris Borisov, and the head of the Energo Pro Razgrad Department Ventsislav Iliev.

Borisov and Iliev presented the main parameters of the company's network in the area and stressed that they are committed to maintaining it. They also clarified some points of the legal framework that they are obliged to comply with in their work and noted that the funds for repairs and capital investments of the technical infrastructure in the region for 2024 are BGN 1 million. Borisov also presented a good communication practice with the local authorities in Ruse.

The mayors claimed that they do not receive information about Energo Pro teams coming to the settlements to prune branches that are close to the electric wires. They stressed that such activity is rarely carried out, which in winter creates problems with the electricity supply.

Dobrev proposed that by the end of the week the mayors should send a list of the streets on which tree branches should be pruned, so that Energo Pro can send a schedule of visits by their teams to the villages in question. An agreement was reached for the mayors to receive the contacts of the company officials for their respective villages, in order to be informed about upcoming preventive measures, so that the mayors can in turn inform the villagers.

The Manager of Home Social Patronage Rumyana Baltova was also assured that she would be informed in time about preventive power cuts in the area where the patronage is located, as power outages in unclear periods make it difficult to prepare food for over 500 elderly residents of the municipality.
